In TCM, everything is about balance.

If you have too much of one thing, it is important to remove it so it does not continue weighing you down. If you do not have enough of another, it is time for a refill.

Think of your body as a hot air balloon. Where your hot air balloon is able to remain just floating effortlessly is where it is most happy. If there is too much weights, your hot air balloon keeps on sinking down. If there is not enough weights, your hot air balloon just keeps rising and rising. In theory, once everything is completely in equilibrium that is when you are at your optimal.

That is why it is important to find out what type of constitution you have. Once you know what you have then you know what foods benefit you best and what are good ones to avoid. Constitutional health is not the only one to keep in mind. Lifestyle choices can also change the symptoms are characteristics you have. Therefore it is important to continue to check and modify your diet. Of course, it would be best to find a TCM practitioner to help determine precisely and moderate your health. This series of blog posts are just general guidelines.
